ADOPT AN ELEPHANT

We all know it’s the little ones in the family that need the most care, attention and love. That’s why we need your help in taking care of baby Luna and mischievous Haven. The future is becoming more and more of an unknown as the world is still gripped by the current situation. It’s now nearly 2 years since we had visitors and the more time goes by, the more the future of Samui Elephant Haven becomes even more precarious.
You can continue to support the Haven by adopting one of our families at the park so we can secure a sound future for all of them. There are several ways to help and support Luna and Haven, or the gang. Full details below

Plai Bang

“I’m Plai Bang; this means ‘boy elephant’ in Thai. I’m a bit of a ‘Jack the Lad’, well, I used to be until it got me into trouble. You see, I was taken from my mother when I was only two years old. All day long, I walked up and down the beach at a hotel, only stopping to have my photograph taken and to be fed watermelon and bananas.

Som-O

A few days after arrival Som-O was introduced to the gang.  Molo Air, Nong Pech and Kwan Samui were all eager to meet her and very welcoming.  Som-O is actually the oldest of this group as she’s thought to be in her mid-fifties. However, there are lots of her younger friends teaching her and thanks to them she is learning every day how to be a free elephant.

Haven’s Family

A happy family baby, mommy and grandma.

They love to enjoy the mud cause the baby love it the most and mommy love to splash mud on her body while grandma loves to scratch her body with the tree
It’s because grandma is very old almost 70 years old so most of the food for this family is soft food like “RICE BALL” and of course baby Haven also loves them.

Sorn Ram

“My name is Sorn Ram.
I was born and raised in the north of Thailand.I started my life in the teak wood logging trade where we would push, pull and roll big logs all day long, the job was risky; especially for a baby elephant who didn’t listen!

Sudarat

“My name is Sudarat and am the boss of Samui Elephant Haven. I’m 45 years old and have had a long and tiring life already; in fact, it has been exhausting. I hobble around like a little old lady because I have a knee injury, hence my nickname Nanny!”
