The most asked question at Samui Elephant Haven is “Can we bathe with elephants?”

Imagine being in a pool with five rather large and very boisterous animals that want to play with cheery abandon; climbing over and ducking each other, wallowing and splashing, trunk slapping and trumpeting. It’s a joy to watch, but you also have ‘toilet-time’; it’s their favourite place to dump their poop!

Elephants are extremely caring animals and have complete empathy with their surroundings. If humans are in the water with them; it causes them intense stress and hampers their natural behaviour, which makes them moderate their fun. Samui Elephant Haven does not permit bathing for these very reasons. Sitting under the jungle canopy, watching elephants play in nature is a truly remarkable experience, brings so much delight and offers endless photography opportunities.
