Our beloved Luna was born as a surprise under the lunar full moon on October 3rd 2021. Just 18 months before, we rescued her mum Aom from a trekking camp but we didn’t realise that she was pregnant. So we were amazed when the tiniest, most beautiful elephant arrived into the world – and we named her Luna! From that very first day, Luna captured the hearts of every single person who laid eyes upon her. She was happy, playful and full of mischief! We tragically lost Luna to the deadly elephant endotheliotropic herpesviruses (EEHV) in July 2023. We miss her every day. Through the heartbreak we remember that were so lucky to have shared in her precious little life, she taught us all to live each moment to the fullest.
